Description:
The position focuses on the generation of network configurations, such as Service Function Chaining (SFC), by framing it as a planning problem in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This problem will be tackled using a wide range of AI methods, including Neuro-Symbolic Reasoning, Neural Algorithmic Reasoning, Reinforcement Learning, etc. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in an international environment and build a pan-European collaborative network by working on EU-funded collaborative projects. The applicant’s tasks will be:
- Conducting world-class, original scientific research.
- Writing scientific papers for high impact journals and conferences.
- Regularly complete all coursework as outlined in the PhD program of study.
- Contributing to project activities, including research and scientific dissemination.
Required qualifications and selection criteria:
The applicant must hold a MSc degree or equivalent in related field (computer science, electrical engineering, physics, or mathematics). For this position, it is required to have analytic thinking, good knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language (Python, Matlab, Javascript, C++, etc.) and a good command of English language. Any prior experience with data analytics, code development, communication networks or/and embedded systems is a plus.

Employment: The contract will cover up to 4 years full-time employment with yearly extension subject to successful progress in PhD study. Category H017001, amounting to 21.600 – 25.920 € yearly gross salary + ~2400 € net meal and travel allowances + 1200 € net vacation allowance.
